Christmas Minis at M&M’s Tree Farm — Blairsville, PA
(A recap of cozy windstorms, kind people, and a green vintage truck.)
There’s a kind of magic that only happens on a tree farm — that soft hush between rows of evergreens, the smell of pine waking something ancient in your chest, and the way the winter wind tries to steal every hat, curl, and toddler sock in sight.
This year, that magic lived at M&M’s Tree Farm in Blairsville, PA, where I hosted five beautiful mini sessions… and one very stubborn gust of wind that basically tried to be my assistant.
The Setting: A Tree Farm Straight Out of a Christmas Storybook
M&M’s Tree Farm has that old-world charm you can’t fake. Rows of evergreens. A quiet hill. Space to breathe. And tucked right into the heart of it — a vintage green truck that looks like it rolled straight out of a 1950s holiday postcard.
The owners were unbelievably kind, the sort of people who make you feel like you’ve been there a hundred times even if it’s your first.
The Sessions: A Mix of Familiar Faces and New Ones
I photographed a blend of returning families and brand-new clients — the sweetest mixture.
Returning families felt like catching up with old friends.
New families brought that fresh spark of “this is our first time doing this,” and I love watching people light up when they see the back of the camera for the first time.
Despite the wild wind trying to eat my hair and everyone else’s, every single gallery ended up full of movement, laughter, and that perfectly imperfect holiday energy. Honestly, wind gives photos a soul — a little rebellion, a little life.
The Vibe: Cozy, Nostalgic, Slightly Chaotic (in the best way)
Think:
- Cold cheeks turning pink
- Kids giggling behind the truck bed
- Couples wrapped in blankets
- Pine branches swaying like they wanted to be in the photos, too
- The truck holding the center like a quiet, timeless witness
The whole day felt like stepping into a Christmas memory you swear you had as a kid.
A Quick Thank You
To the owners of M&M’s Tree Farm: thank you for opening your space, your truck, and your kindness to me and my clients.
And to the families — new and familiar — thank you for showing up, embracing the wind, and letting me capture your love in the middle of a Pennsylvania gust storm.
Until Next Year
If you missed out this time, don’t worry. Christmas minis at M&M’s felt too good not to repeat.
Next year, I’m bringing extra bobby pins… just in case the wind wants to tag in again.
